Updates:
Pet Expo is ON and MSDA will be there (Booth #202). Given the weather forecast, we’re confident of Friday, hopeful for Saturday but feeling rather doubtful about Sunday. World of Pets Expo is January 23-25 at the State Fairgrounds. Stop by the booth to talk sporting dogs and meet some breeds. Come out for some fun and socializing before you’re snowed in at home!
The 2026 World of Pets Expo is Friday, February 23-Sunday, February 25 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. MSDA will have a booth, staffed by members and their dogs, ready to greet the public and provide information about the club, upcoming events and sporting dogs in general. Pet Expo hours are Friday 2-8, Saturday 10-7 and Sunday 10-5. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 and under 5 yrs are free. Tickets are available online at https://wop.tixonlinenow.com/timonium/ or may be purchased at the door. Well socialized pets, providing they are kept on a leash, are permitted at the Expo.
Also, MSDA’s Lisa Lipton will be joined by her Pointers on Friday, January 23rd at 4 and 6 PM in the North Hall Clinician Demo Arena (inside the Main Building), demonstrating basic obedience, a few tricks including fetch, a “dog show” walk-through, and Q&A with spectators.
Each year MSDA hosts a booth at the World of Pets Expo, the “largest consumer pet show on the East Coast”. The Pet Expo is typically held on a late January weekend at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. Tens of thousands of people and, often, their own pets attend this event. There are many aisles of vendors, a wide range of animals (dogs, cats, birds, farm animals, reptiles…), dock diving, training sessions, Corgi races (?!), grooming and costume competitions, and just lots of fun.
MSDA’s booth location is usually convenient and very visible. People stop by to meet a sporting dog and to learn about sporting dog activities in general and about MSDA events in particular.
