10:00 am – 3:00 pm each day
8809 Slate Quarry Rd
Dickerson, MD 20842
Hosted by Alex and Steve Roth
This event is for MSDA club members, their families, and their guests. Dogs, too, of course!
Planning to attend? Reservations are required this year and we are limiting attendance to 20 people per day. Just submit the simple form at the bottom of this page.
MSDA will provide grilled hamburger & chicken and cold non-alcoholic drinks. Attendees should bring a side dish or dessert to share. Or, if you prefer to bring your own picnic lunch, that’s fine, too.
Volunteer! If you have some grilling skills, we will need some help with the cooking (Steve has a large gas grill at the pool).
All MSDA members, their guests, family, and well-behaved dogs are welcome. For field-trained dogs, or those who might be interested, there also will be opportunities for very informal field training.
This year, we will be limiting attendance and also putting out more tables, chairs, and shade to encourage social distancing. Please be considerate of others and plan to keep some distance and wear a mask whenever practical. We’re also bringing in a port-o-potty and a hand washing station. We may take other steps to be sure we are in compliance with state, county, and CDC regulations.
The pool will be open all day. Dogs are allowed in the pool, subject to careful adult (human) supervision. Bring your floating dog toys and bumpers! To prevent damage to the pool’s edge, dogs should only exit the pool using the stairs at the shallow end.
The Roth’s property is fenced but the gates must be opened when cars enter or exit, so please make sure you keep an eye on your dogs at all times and bring a leash to use as necessary.
Directions: From I-270, take exit 22 onto Rt 109 South toward Poolesville. After about ¼ mile, branch right onto Slate Quarry Road. It’s about 1 ½ miles to #8809 on the left. Slate Quarry Rd is paved, but it’s also narrow with curves and no center line. Stay to the right and drive slowly.
Remember, if you are planning to attend, you must let us know by filling out the form below.
It hardly ever rains on MSDA’s Summer Pool Party, but it did a couple years ago. This year, there is no alternative date so, if there is significant rain in the forecast, one or both days could be canceled. If that is necessary, we will email and/or call those who have signed up to attend.
